Astra Partners athletes deliver indoor titles in the US and UK

Astra Partners athletes enjoyed an outstanding weekend of indoor competition, securing victories at a major US meet and multiple national titles at the Novuna UK Athletics Indoor Championships.

At the Tiger Paw Invitational in Clemson, three Astra athletes claimed wins and standout performances.

Christina Clemons continued her strong start to the season, winning the women’s 60m hurdles in 7.82. In the men’s 400m, Christopher Morales Williams produced an impressive 44.80 to take the title. Wadeline Jonathas won her section of the women’s 400m in 51.67, reinforcing her consistency as the indoor season builds.

In Birmingham at the Novuna UK Athletics Indoor Championships, Astra athletes were again prominent.

Renee Regis won the women’s 200m title in 22.95, but her most eye-catching run came in the semi-final, where she clocked 22.89, setting a new championship record and the third-fastest indoor 200m time ever by a British woman. Regis’ victory was made even more special as she continues a proud athletics heritage, following in the footsteps of her parents, John Regis MBE and Jennifer Stoute, both former internationals.

At the same championships, Daniel Goriola retained his men’s 60m hurdles crown for a second consecutive national indoor title, and Abigail Pawlett took gold in the women’s 60m hurdles.

It was a weekend that not only delivered medals and titles but also illustrated the progressing performance levels of Astra’s athletes at key indoor events on both sides of the Atlantic.
