Senior Football Consultant
Glynn Snodin is a highly respected football consultant with a long and distinguished career in the sport, both as a player and coach. Born on February 14, 1960, in Thrybergh, Rotherham, Snodin started his professional playing career with Doncaster Rovers in 1977. As a versatile midfielder, he made over 300 appearances for the club, earning a reputation for his dedication and skill on the field.
In 1985, Snodin moved to Sheffield Wednesday, where he continued to impress for two seasons before joining Leeds United in 1987. At Leeds, he became a key player and was part of the squad that achieved promotion to the First Division in 1990, a significant milestone in his playing career. After his successful tenure at Leeds, he had shorter spells with Sunderland, Oldham Athletic, and Rotherham United, before retiring from playing in the mid-90s.
Snodin transitioned into coaching with the same passion and commitment he showed as a player. He took on various coaching roles, starting with Carlisle United, before moving to Charlton Athletic and serving as an assistant manager at Southampton. His coaching career also included important periods at West Ham United and Preston North End, where he was instrumental in helping the team reach the Championship playoffs.
In addition to his club coaching roles, Snodin made significant contributions to international football as a part of the Northern Ireland coaching staff under Michael O’Neill. His work was crucial in Northern Ireland’s successful campaign to qualify for the UEFA Euro 2016 tournament, marking one of the high points of his coaching career.
