As a player, Colin made over 500 league appearances in a career that saw him become a key figure at Middlesbrough and Nottingham Forest, where his solid defending and leadership qualities earned him not only two England caps but also the respect and admiration of fans and teammates alike. His time on the pitch was marked by his versatility and consistency, traits that have carried over into his post-playing career.

After retiring from playing, Colin seamlessly transitioned into coaching and management, where he continued to make an impact. His roles at Middlesbrough, Bradford City, Hartlepool United, and with the England U21 team have seen him work with some of the most promising talents in the game, helping to shape their careers with the same dedication he showed as a player.
