Nikoleta Kyriakopoulou is a distinguished Greek pole vaulter, renowned for her achievements on both national and international stages. Born on March 21, 1986, in Athens, Greece, Kyriakopoulou has established herself as a leading figure in her sport through her dedication and exceptional performances.
Kyriakopoulou began her athletic career in gymnastics before transitioning to track and field, where she found her passion for pole vaulting. She quickly rose through the ranks, making her mark with a series of impressive performances. Her breakthrough came in 2012 when she won the bronze medal at the European Championships in Helsinki, clearing a height of 4.60 meters .
In 2015, Kyriakopoulou reached the pinnacle of her career by winning the bronze medal at the World Championships in Beijing with a personal best of 4.80 meters, setting a new national record for Greece . This achievement solidified her status as one of the top pole vaulters in the world. That same year, she also won the Diamond League series, further demonstrating her consistent excellence .
Kyriakopoulou’s career has been marked by resilience and determination. After taking a break in 2017 due to the birth of her daughter, she made a remarkable comeback to the sport . In 2018, she claimed the silver medal at the European Championships in Berlin, showcasing her ability to compete at the highest level even after a hiatus .
