World record holder Grant Holloway extended his 10-year unbeaten streak in the 60m hurdles, making it 76 consecutive victories dating back to 2015. Running a world-leading 7.36 seconds, Holloway once again proved why he is the reigning World Indoor Champion and a favorite for gold in Nanjing.
In the women’s 60m hurdles, Grace Stark delivered a personal-best time of 7.75 seconds, finishing second and earning a well-deserved spot at the World Championships. Christina Clemons followed closely behind, taking third place with a time of 7.81 seconds, securing her qualification for Nanjing as well.
Ronnie Baker delivered a stellar performance in the men’s 60m sprint, clocking 6.52 seconds to win the US national title and cement his place at the World Championships. With his explosive start and top-end speed, Baker will be one to watch in Nanjing.
Vernon Turner secured his place in Nanjing with a 2.25m clearance in the high jump, topping the field and proving his elite-level consistency.
One of the breakout performances of the UK Championships came from Daniel Goriola in the men’s 60m hurdles. The 19-year-old claimed victory with a season-best 7.76 seconds, adding this indoor title to his 2024 British outdoor 110m hurdles championship win.
In the middle-distance events, Issy Boffey showcased her strength and racecraft to win the 800m, cementing her place as one of Britain’s best over two laps.
World-class Paralympian Sophie Hahn took victory in the women’s 60m para race, further solidifying her dominance in the short sprints.
Middle-distance specialist Tom Keen (pictured) put in a gutsy performance to finish second in the 1500m, underlining his growing reputation as a contender at the elite level.
Young sprinters Renee Regis and Teddy Wilson both made history by reaching their first-ever senior finals in the men’s 60m, marking significant milestones in their careers.
In Ireland, Louise Shanahan controlled the women’s 800m final, crosing the line to take the national title and secure her qualification for Nanjing.
